Grafton Notch State Park, Newry Several hiking trails through the end of the Mahoosuc Range. There are many opportunities for picknicking, hiking, and observing the Screw Auger Falls and Mother Walker Falls. The Appalachian Trail passes through the park. There are picnic tables and grills. Mt. Blue State Park, Weld Mt. Blue State Park is known for its spectacular views of Mt. Blue and the surrounding mountains. Webb Beach, along the lake offers a sandy beach for water enthusiasts, and the state park has an extensive network of trails, a camping area, picnic area and boat launch. The park's Nature Center offers hands-on exhibits and there are evening programs in the park's amphitheater. Wildlife abounds in Mt. Blue State Park. Open May 15 through October 1. Range Ponds State Park, Poland Not far from Lewiston-Auburn, Range Ponds State Park offers a wide sandy beach for swimming and picnicking, and a smooth-surfaced promendate that parallels the pond for 1000 feet next to the beach. Visitors will enjoy canoeing, kayaking, windsurfing, and small motor boats. There is a group shelter and playground available, and handicap accesses have just been completed. Lifeguards are on duty. Rangeley Lake State Park, Rangeley Rangeley Lake is 10 miles square and is famous for landlocked salmon, trout fishing, and anglers who enjoy catch and release. Watersports around the lake are popular, as are hiking, camping, wildlife watching and picnicking. The small campground has 50 scenic campsites and the day-use area includes a boat ramp, playground and restrooms with hot showers. Open May 15 through September 30. Sebago Lake State Park, Naples Sebago Lake is Maine's deepest and second largest lake. The forested lakeside park offers year-round recreations for visitors to Maine. Swimming, sport fishing, boating and camping are only a few of the summer activities offered on the 45-square mile Sebago Lake. The 250-site campground is one of the most popular in Maine.
