Indoor Winter Activities in Maine Maine offers many fun winter activities that one can do indoors without wearing a coat and boots! Check this page for a few fun indoor activities for the entire family. International Snowmobilers Festival Madawaska, Maine & Edmundston, NB. February 2-4, 2008. Snowmobile along 400 miles of marked trails on both sides of the international border. Also enjoy socials, dances, drag races, dinners, and fun-nights. See registration information at the website. For more information, call the Madawaska Chamber of Commerce at (207) 728-7000. Fairfield Chocolate Festival Fairfield (Community Center). February 9, 2008. Activities include clowns, high school choir, face painting, local dance groups and local talent, and of course, chocolate. Phone (207) 873-3315 or 453-9895 for details and more information. 100 Mile Wilderness Sled Dog Race February 10, 2007. Dogsled race from Greenville to Brownville Junction and back. Sponsored by the Towns of Greenville and Brownville, and the local snowmobile clubs. Schoodic Lake Ice Fishing Derby February 16-17, 2008. Brighten up your February by coming out to see the longest running fishing derby in Maine. Sponsored by the Milo Fire Department, all proceeds go to local charities. The derby is always held on the Free Fishing Weekend in February. Sebago Lake Derby Fest Sebago Lake. February 22-24, 2008. This is a fun-filled family weekend sponsored by the Sebago Lake Rotary Club. On Friday night there is the "Hardwater Classic," Maine's richest purse for car racing on ice. Motorcycles can race, too. The races will be held at Point Sebago Resort. A two-day ice fishing derby starts on Saturday, with over $25,000 in prizes. Also on Saturday is an air show, skating, sliding, snowshoeing and food vendors. Sunday features snowmobile events, antique snowmobiles, a radar run at Raymond Beach and an "extreme" snowmobile jumping show. The polar dip will benefit the Maine Children's Cancer Program as brave souls leap into the frigid waters (about 34 degrees) of Sebago Lake. Maine Winterfest Sebago Lake. February 22-24, 2008. Maine Winterfest is a yearly event featuring snow and ice carving by professional and amateur snow and ice carvers from around the world! "This year the Maine WinterFest Activities will be held at Point Sebago Resort in conjunction with the State's largest Ice Fishing Derby!"
